Disability
Discrimination Act (DDA) Effective 1st October 2004
As
you are aware the new legislation Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
came into force on 1st October 2004. All goods and service providers
are facing the new legislation with concern and are not clear on the
new acts requirements within the law.
You
will have no doubt received a mailing from the D.W.P
(Department of Works & Pensions) explaining the potential
penalties that can occur if you do not comply. Fines can be severe.The good
news is that the Disability Discrimination
Act (DDA) is all about being “reasonable” and
fair under the new legislation.
